Lincomix 300 for Poultry is a sterile injectable solution containing lincomycin hydrochloride at a concentration of 300 mg/mL. It is primarily used in poultry and livestock to treat Gram-positive bacterial infections and Mycoplasma-related respiratory diseases. Active Ingredient: Lincomycin hydrochloride

Mechanism of Action

Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit, blocking peptide chain elongation.

Spectrum:

Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Clostridium spp.

Mycoplasma spp. (especially important in poultry)

Anaerobic bacteria

It is bacteriostatic, but may exhibit bactericidal activity at high concentrations or against highly susceptible organisms.

1. Poultry (Chickens, Turkeys) Lincomix 300 for Poultry

Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum

Air sacculitis

Mycoplasma synoviae infections

Synovitis (infectious arthritis)

Enteritis due to susceptible organisms

2. Livestock (Swine, Calves, Sheep, Goats)

Mycoplasmal pneumonia (enzootic pneumonia)

Arthritis caused by Mycoplasma hyosynoviae

Swine dysentery

Bacterial enteritis

Dosage and Administration

Lincomix 300 for Poultry

Swine:

IM injection:

5 mg/lb (11 mg/kg) body weight once daily

Example: 1 mL per 60 lb body weight

Duration: 3 to 7 days depending on the condition

Calves, Sheep, Goats (off-label use):

IM or SC injection:

10 mg/kg body weight daily

Duration: 3 to 5 days

Poultry:

Water-soluble forms are preferred, but injectable Lincomix 300 may be used off-label via IM injection in individual birds or for special treatment cases:

5–15 mg/kg body weight once daily IM

Practical in valuable breeding stock or show birds

Contraindications

Not for use in rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, or horses – may cause fatal enteritis.
