Methocarbamol Injection – Veterinary Muscle Relaxant & Pain Relief
Methocarbamol Injection is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used in both human and veterinary medicine to treat muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders. In veterinary care, it is especially valuable for horses, dogs, and cats suffering from acute injuries, tetanus-related spasms, or back pain.
Composition
Active Ingredient: Methocarbamol
Concentration: Typically 100 mg/mL or 500 mg/5 mL depending on brand
Formulation: Sterile injectable solution
Packaging: Multi-dose vials Methocarbamol Injection
Mechanism of Action
Methocarbamol works on the central nervous system (CNS) to depress nerve transmission in the spinal cord, reducing muscle hyperactivity.
It does not act directly on the muscles, allowing relaxation without impairing normal muscle function.
Often used alongside NSAIDs or corticosteroids to improve mobility and comfort.
