marbocyl 10 100ml is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in animals, especially cattle, pigs, and dogs. It is primarily used to combat infections caused by Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria, including those resistant to other antibiotics.

Mechanism of Action

Marbofloxacin:

Belongs to the fluoroquinolone class

Inhibits DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV – essential enzymes for bacterial DNA replication

Results in bactericidal action (kills bacteria rather than just inhibiting growth)

Indications (Approved Uses)

Used in veterinary medicine to treat infections such as:

Cattle (Bovine):

Respiratory infections (bovine respiratory disease – BRD) caused by Pasteurella, Mannheimia, and Histophilus

Acute mastitis caused by E. coli

Swine (Porcine):

Respiratory tract infections caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida

Metritis-mastitis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome
