Meflosyl 50 ml
Meflosyl 50 ml is a veterinary injectable solution containing flunixin meglumine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is widely used in horses, cattle, and pigs for pain relief, fever reduction, and inflammation control.

Indications & Uses
Meflosyl injection is indicated for:
Relief of pain and inflammation from musculoskeletal disorders.
Control of fever and inflammation in respiratory diseases.
Management of colic pain.
Meflosyl 50 ml In Cattle
Reduction of fever and inflammation associated with bovine respiratory disease (BRD).
Relief of pain due to mastitis.
Control of inflammation from endotoxemia.
In Pigs
Control of fever and inflammation caused by respiratory disease outbreaks.
Mode of Action
Meflosyl works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme blockade. This action reduces:
Pain sensitivity
Swelling and heat in inflamed tissues
Fever
Meflosyl 50 ml Dosage & Administration
(Always follow veterinary prescription)
Horses: 1.1 mg/kg body weight, IV, once daily (up to 5 days).
Cattle: 2.2 mg/kg IV (slow) once daily for up to 3 days.
Pigs: 2 mg/kg IM once daily for up to 3 days.
Route: Intravenous in horses and cattle; intramuscular in pigs.
Withdrawal Periods
Meat: 7–10 days (species dependent)
Milk: 36–72 hours (check local regulations)
Side Effects & Precautions
Possible gastrointestinal irritation or ulceration
Avoid use in animals with renal, hepatic, or cardiac disorders
Do not combine with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
Ensure proper hydration during treatment
Storage
Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight
Keep vial sealed and sterile until use
Special Population Considerations:
Dosages are usually reduced for ponies, who are more at-risk for NSAID side effects, as well as horses with decreased liver or kidney function (such as older horses).
